Mr. Flynn, P.E., C.I.H.

Mr. Flynn Mr. Flynn graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and he received his Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from the University of Houston. Mr. Flynn has been practicing engineering for over 33 years. He is currently a Forensic Investigator and Professional Engineer licensed in 22 states. In his home state of Texas, Mr. Flynn is listed in the Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical disciplines. Mr. Flynn is also a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH), and a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) by the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI). Mr. Flynn has been teaching coursework for the School of PE since 2008. At School of PE, Mr. Flynn has proven experience teaching Thermodynamics, Power, Heat Transfer and Exchanger, Material Science and Economics.

Mr. Galli, P.E.

Mr. Galli

Dr. Brian J. Galli works as an Assistant Professor of Project Management and Management Engineering at Long Island University – Post. He holds a PhD in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. He also holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from Binghamton University (SUNY Binghamton), as well as MS in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science & Technology. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York state and holds a certification as a Lean Bronze, Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt, Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional in Engineering Management (PEM), and an Improvement Advisor (IHI).

Mr. Galli's  work has been published in a variety of publications, and it has been presented at several venues and professional organizations including Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE), American Society for Quality (ASQ), American Quality Institute (AQI), Society for Health Systems (SHS), American Society for Engineering Management (ASEM), Project Management Institute (PMI).

 

He currently teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in areas of continuous improvement, management engineering, and project management at the College of Management at Long Island University – Post. He also owns Apex Strategies, Ltd, a company specializing in continuous improvement consulting and training initiatives. He has over nine years of experience in industrial engineering, continuous improvement tools, and concepts of wide variety of arenas: healthcare, manufacturing, transactional, and service environments. He has spent several years working for Northwell Health (formerly known as North Shore LIJ Health System) in New York and one year in the health plan business at the EmblemHealth Service Company.

Mr. Galli teaches Facilities Engineering and Planning and Supply Chain Logic at School of PE.

 

 

Mr. Hoffman, P.E.

Mr. Hoffman

Mr. Hoffman is originally from San Diego, studied at California Polytechnic State University, Pomona for his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering emphasizing in Power and then began studies for his Master in Electrical Engineering with a dual emphasis in Power and Systems Engineering at California State University, Los Angeles. Once completing his masters focus was placed on the Professional Engineering Licensing for Electrical Engineering in Power. Focusing on his career, Mr. Hoffman has held positions in some reputable companies such as AECOM, Southern California Gas Company and the City of San Diego, some lesser known companies Mr Hoffman has spent time working at where California Steel Industries, originally Kaiser Steel which started Kaiser Permanente, and Henderson Engineers a small company which with his help established a presence in Los Angeles in 2014. As of late Mr Hoffman has also begun teaching at Power Electronics at University of San Diego Extension program.

Mr. Hume, P.E.

Mr. Hume Mr. Hume has a BS in Electrical Engineering. He has seven years of experience in the construction, telecommunications, and IT industries. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). He is a member of the IEEE Communications Society. At School of PE, Mr. Hume has proven experience in teaching signal processing, communications, digital systems and elect magnetic field theory. 

Dr. Kommalapati, PhD, P.E., BCEE, F. ASCE

Dr. Kommalapati Dr. Kommalapati holds a BS  in Civil Engineering and a MS and PhD in Environmental Engineering. He has more than 18 years of teaching and research experience at a public university. Dr. Kommalapati has proven teaching experience in fluid mechanics, environmental-water and wastewater, chemistry, and ethics at School of PE. 

Mr. Lambert, P.E.

Mr. Lambert Mr. Lambert has a BS and MS in Civil - Structural Engineering from Columbia University. He is also a member of Pi Mu Epsilon, the National Mathematics Honor Society. He has been practicing engineering for nine years which includes five years of teaching experience. Mr. Lambert has proven teaching experience in general mathematics, Advanced Topics in mathematics, and Probability & Statistics at School of PE.

Mr. Marchesseault, P.E.

Mr. Marchesseault Mr. Marchesseault is originally from Montana where he obtained his BS in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University (MSU) in 1988.  Upon graduating from MSU, he spent six years as an officer in the US Navy operating nuclear power plants on aircraft carriers.  Following his Navy career, Mr. Marchesseault worked in Silicon Valley for 13 years in the high tech industry developing semi-conductor capital equipment.  After getting married and starting a family, he wanted to move to the country, and he shifted careers to the electric utility industry. After working nearly three years in the wind industry managing wind parks in  California, he moved to a municipal utility in Lodi, California where he manages the engineering and operations department for Lodi Electric Utility. While at Lodi Electric Utility, Mr. Marchesseault obtained his Professional Engineer license in Electrical and Computer: Power.

Dr. Ofoli, PhD., P.E.

Dr. Ofoli

Dr. Ofoli earned his BS in electrical and electronic engineering and MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering. He is an active member and officer of the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) and has served on the IEEE/IAS Industrial Automation and Control Committee (IACC) for over eight years. Dr. Ofoli, a registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee, has been practicing engineering for over nine years which includes five years of teaching experience in the following subject matters: electronics, control systems, circuit analysis, measurement, instrumentation, safety and design at School of PE. 

Mr. Payeur, P.E.

Mr. Payeur Mr. Payeur received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Hampshire, and his M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).  He is currently pursuing his PhD at WPI while working as a protection and control engineer at Unitil, an electric utility company.  Before working at Unitil, Mr. Payeur was an electric distribution engineer at Eversource Energy.  He is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of New Hampshire.

Dr. Petracca, PhD

Dr. Petracca Dr. Petracca has a BS in Electrical Engineering, a MS in Telecommunication Engineering, and a PhD in Computer Engineering. He has been teaching undergraduate and graduate courses for nine years. At School of PE, Dr. Petracca has proven teaching experience in Mathematics and Probability and Statistics.

Dr. Proctor, PhD, P.E.

Dr. Proctor Dr. Proctor is a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana with BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering. In his 19 year tenure as professor at the University of Florida, Dr. Proctor taught thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, gas dynamics, heat and mass transfer, combustion, instrumentation, finite element methods, vibrations, mechanical design, biometrics, codes and standards, analytical methods, and machine analysis and design. At UF, Dr. Proctor performed research in laser ignition, holography, flame structure and emission analysis, and biomechanics. Dr. Proctor served the state of Florida as member of the Board of Directors for the Florida Engineers Management Corporation. Dr. Proctor is Past-Vice President of Professional Practice for ASME, and he currently serves as Commissioner to ABET representing SAE and has been involved in the review of over 30 programs. Dr. Proctor was an ex-officio member of the NCEES Committee on Examinations for Professional Engineers, and member of the NCEES Task force on Engineering Licensure Qualifications. Dr. Proctor is currently a forensic engineering consultant with 30 years of testifying experience. Dr. Proctor’s has proven teaching experience in Hydraulics and Fluids, and Mechanical Systems and Materials at School of PE.

Mr. Stankiewicz, PE

Mr. Stankiewicz Mr. Stankiewicz has two undergraduate degrees and a Master’s degree in management with over 35 years’ experience in the construction industry. Specializing in general building construction, he has played an active executive role in the construction of nearly a billion dollars of projects within the public and private sectors. His broad background in projects engaged with the Federal, State, and Local governments, Universities, and major corporate clients have strengthened his skills as a leader. As an adjunct instructor for the Graduate School of Engineering at a major East Coast Technology Institute, he taught courses in Construction Management, Systems in Building Design (Civil-M/E/P/F), and Project Scheduling. He has over seven years teaching experience. At School of PE, Mr. Stankiewicz has proven teaching experience in Surveying, Construction, Materials, Engineering Economics, and Project Management. 

Mr. Tumu, PE, PMP, CSM, MCP

Mr. Tumu Mr. Tumu has a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has over 33 years of significant and successful experience in pharmaceutical production management, plant start-up, project management, engineering field, operations, chemical process development, process scale-up, technology transfer from pilot plant to bulk production and trouble shooting, sales support, customer relations, design and implementation. He also has several years of experience in developing, teaching, coaching and training Chemical Engineers, Process Engineers, and Chemical Operators in custom Pharmaceutical/Chemical Manufacturing from Pilot scale to Bulk production. Mr. Tumu has proven teaching experience in Plant Design and Operations at School of PE.
